Two-year member. The technician was professional and completed the repair, but I was charged $372.58 for a transformer that retails for $19–$22 on Amazon — with no labor line item and no disclosure of the parts cost before work began. When I raised the concern, the company declined to issue any refund after a lengthy back-and-forth. The repair itself was fine. But if you use this company, ask for a full itemized breakdown including actual parts cost before authorizing any work.
The service was as advertised. The tech was well informed in his trade and very personable. He gave informative explanations of all the actions he took on my HVAC. I will definitely be signing a service agreement with this very professional business.
Experience with N8 was very positive. He did a thorough check of our system and answered all my questions.
The Technician Riley was very friendly and responsive to my concerns. He was very honest and told me up front that since it’s a newer build my HVAC was still under MFG warranty for parts. Unfortunately he was a unable to find the issue we are having as the unit had stopped running all the time the same day I called for them to come out. This is in no way the fault of 1st choice just typical of how electric/ AC gremlins work. He was able to check and inform me that we still have 5 years left on the mfg warranty unlike the previous company I called that had done repairs to the unit before. When I called the company that worked on our havac last time they said the repairs they did last year were out of warranty and lied to me and told the equipment was no longer under mfg warranty they wouldn’t even come out to trouble shoot it unless I bought a 24 dollar a month service contract. 1st Choice called me today to check and see if we were still having issues with the heater. At this time we haven’t turned the unit at all because we are trying to get a 24 hour comparison to see what our electric usage is. I believe there is definitely something wrong with unit as our electric usage has gone from an average of 40 kw hours a day to 160>190 kw hours a day. Nov Dec our average usage was 1500KW hours for the month. So far this month it has been 2500KW hours. After talking to our electric provider and the actual electric company they can’t/won’t come check the meter itself until the end of the billing cycle. Hopefully we will be able to recreate the problem and get it resolved. I would recommend 1st Choice to anyone that needs HVAC service. They provided us with the option to buy a yearly service contract that covers repairs and a twice yearly check up for half the price the other company wanted to charge us which we chose to purchase. 9/25/2023 Had outside AC unit issues today Called 1st choice & they sent Robert out today to look at it. He found the issue ( burnt/ melted) Contacter and melted wiring Part was replaced under remaining mfg warranty. All good now. AC is cooling great. Robert took care of us today 9/8/25 Carmelo Diaz came out to clean the Cabinet and the Blower fan in my AC unit. He had previously replaced the fan motor. And installed a compressor saver on our outside unit. He did a great job. And made sure I was satisfied with what had been done.
