2025 JAN UPDATE: Another annual service from them - and the two gentlemen (Angel was one) were very professional, helpful, and did a great job. They also were very helpful with giving me some advice on an old fin-based steam radiator I have that was not working properly --- again, I highly recommend New England SteamWorks for ANYONE who has steam-based heat in their home. ================================= PREVIOUS REVIEW: I'm a pretty in-depth DIY-er having spent 25+ years restoring a Victorian house in Danvers MA and now just starting work on a Queen Anne in Willimantic CT... but when it comes to heating systems (steam-driven radiators in particular), my view is that you need to defer to GENUINE expertise, and realize the old adage of 'you get what you pay for' is TRUTH. Both Nick and Patrick from New England SteamWorks, who recently did work on my heating system (new valves, new pipe run to a radiator, some other items) were definitely extremely knowledgeable, professional, and completed the work in excellent manner. They even pointed out that one item I had agreed to on the work order was not actually needed, saving me almost $1000 off total cost. I highly recommend this company, and their staff... my only regret is that I wish they were located closer to my home, as it does take a little time to get a service call set up and conducted --- but it is worth the wait.
Independent look at our system for any inefficiencies due to high oil consumption. Nice guys, professional and skilled. Will use again!
We just bought a house and the old boiler was extremely loud and had not been serviced in several years, also there was very loud banging and whistling from the radiators. Patrick and Kyle were able to come within a couple of weeks of my request, and did a great job with thorough flushing/maintenance and explaining what was wrong with the construction of the boiler and quickly fixing it. They explained why the faulty construction and total clogging of the low water shutoff valve was a major safety hazard so glad we got this done right away. They also went around and made various adjustments to all the noisy radiators in the house. So far it sounds much quieter. They were both very respectful and efficient and patient with all of our questions. I would recommend them highly.
Professional, on time, and probably one of the most informative service calls I’ve had. First time owning a property with steam heat and both technicians took the time to thoroughly explain the system to me.

Thanks to Rich and Angel for taking on my expanding leak! Sounds like it was a bit like the young Dutch boy who tried to stop the Duke leak with his finger. Y’all fixed one leak and it kept leaking. Thank you for your persistence.

Patrick was great, but I wish the corroded connection to my hot water coil could have been replaced today as part of the service call. His helper was coughing up a lung and as some who’s immunocompromised and has an elderly mother being taken care of in the house, I’m not happy a sick person was in my home. Wish he could have stayed in the truck unless he was needed.
Patrick was incredibly polite and friendly, he explained what he was doing very clearly, and he made sure the issue was resolved before leaving
Rich was very knowledgeable and helped explain how our system works so we can be more educated steam heat owners.

Ranny and Mike were so great - methodical and dedicated, we would like to see them return for this job if possible. Should they be in the area for another job, we offer them our pool after work to relax because they are extremely personable and knowledgeable hard workers. We felt like we have known them for years. Patrick & Rick provided service today, they faced a difficult challenge, and the first set of changes they made in our steam system did not eliminate the water hammer problems we were having. But they kept at it, analyzing the situation, experimenting with a combination of fixes, and eventually managed to solve the problem. We've now been through several complete heating cycles since they finished, and it's amazing how quiet the system is. The water hammer noises had been so loud that we had not been able to sleep in our bedroom for several months, and I won't be fully confident that they aren't going to return until we've had a complete 24 hours of operation. But my wife and I are moving back into our bedroom tonight, and we're (holding our breath, fingers crossed) absolutely delighted. THANK YOU. Patrick & Rick explained everything, answered my many questions, very polite, very professional. They were great.

I didn’t see any way (I’m old and not used to new fangled communication methods) to accept the attached quote for installation of insulation on my newly installed boiler. We recently had our massive first floor radiators stripped, repainted and reinstalled in our 160 year old Victorian. Patricks team from New England SteamWorks brought them from the shop and expertly maneuvered them into place. Some of these radiators weighed up to 600lbs! I would definitely hire New England SteamWorks again. The whole experience was polite, professional and worth every penny.

Technicians are prompt, professional,polite,friendly,knowledgeable and work hard during the visit. They also clean up before leaving and respectfully answer questions, even the ones that are asked in ignorance. They may not the least expensive, but they definitely professional and through.
Just had our boiler serviced by New England SteamWorks. Its the 2nd service they have done for us and we also had our steam pipes wrapped / insulated by them. We have been incredibly impressed with the professionalism of the technician teams and would highly recommend New England SteamWorks!
